AMED TIMES - Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the “Siberağ-4” operations were organised in 26 provinces as a result of efforts coordinated by the Cybercrime Department of the General Command of the Gendarmerie and provincial gendarmerie commands.
During the operations against qualified theft and fraud, misuse of bank or credit cards, illegal gambling and online child pornography, 86 suspects were arrested. The suspects were found to have a transaction volume of 91 million 400 thousand TL in their accounts.
Unauthorised firearms, numerous computers, forged driving licences and digital material were seized during the operations.
Yerlikaya made the following comments in a post on his social media account:
“Just as we fight crime and criminals at home, our fight in the cyber homeland will continue with determination around the clock. I congratulate our heroic gendarmerie who carried out the operations. May God keep the stones away from their feet. The prayers of our people are with you.”
